Dylan Watson
Hi, I'm Dylan Watson.
I'm currently studying Industrial Design at Queensland University of Technology. My interests are creating and engineering products including furniture, robotics and more. I enjoy using technology to create these things including 3D Printing, Laser Cutting and CAD.
Designer Impact Statement
Industrial Design is the process of creating products that are tailored to the client and intended users. This is achieved through various design techniques like sketching, physical prototyping, and 3D modelling software. It is an art to truly be able create good design which I one day hope to learn.
In a studio making models, sketching, and creating 3D renders is where I feel at home. Little did I know I started my Industrial Design journey many years ago when I got my first 3D printer and started learning 3d software. Since then, I have spent many a spare hour building and working on projects, which led me to studying Industrial Design.
Curiosity and a passion for all things engineering and design are what drive me to create. I have a personal interest in the field of robotics focusing on prostheses. I would like to contribute to this field and hope to create a life changing product for someone someday.
